Yoga & community to support & nurture you through early motherhood
Early motherhood can be both magical and overwhelming - in so many ways!
This yoga series is designed to support your physical and emotional postpartum recovery with patience and care, all in a friendly and warm atmosphere, so that you can allow yourself the time and space to repair and rejuvenate, however you gave birth.
As a small, intimate group, we'll support each other as we explore ways to nurture and embrace your powerful body that held and supported your precious baby for 9 months.
Each session will provide an opportunity to tend to your mental and emotional needs ~ to fill your cup ~ whilst spending precious, uninterrupted time with your little one(s).
Babies have open hearts and minds and are ready to embrace new experiences. The shared experience for both parent and baby is a beautiful and fun way to encourage early bonding whilst creating a healthy and balanced foundation of well-being.
Please feel free to tend to your and your baby's needs throughout the class - taking a break to (breast)feed your baby, change their nappy or soothe them if they become unsettled is part of listening to and acknowledging your maternal instinct, and is very much encouraged, and I'll be on hand to support you as much as I can.
No previous Yoga experience necessary & all classes will follow current Covid measures & guidelines for your safety
What to expect
Each 60 minute session will include:
A 10-15 minute welcome chat for sharing & community building
A 45 minute gentle Hatha Yoga flow class suitable for the postpartum period, including Asana (Yoga postures) to encourage increased mobility, space and strength throughout the body
Movements and interaction to support your baby's body, brain and nervous system development
Nurturing poses to promote healing and rest for your body after birth
Specific poses to strengthen and relieve tired muscles from lifting, feeding and cradling
Breathwork techniques to enhance focus, rehabilitation and strenghtening of the core and pelvic floor muscles
Meditation, yoga nidra & relaxation practices to allow for deep rest and integration

These sessions are suitable for all levels of practitioner, from 6-12 weeks post delivery, providing both you and baby are healthy and well, and suitable for babies from 6 weeks, up until crawling. A short health questionnaire will need to be completed before joining to ensure the sessions are suitable for the mother & baby attending. All information will be kept confidential.
You speak to so many mothers, and there just isn't enough support out there. I joined Sophie's classes during my pregnancy and after giving birth - you have no idea how much they helped. Not just physically but also mentally. The online sessions and her incredible skill set helped me in such a direct way, and I don't know where else I could have found the level of support that Sophie offered me on such a deep and connected level. It felt such a safe space to be a part of.
