A weekly practice of breath, gentle movement, and deeply supported rest to help you settle, soften, and return home to yourself
Seasons of Rest is a slow, guided practice that weaves together breath awareness, gentle, somatic movement, and restorative yoga, designed to help you soften, slow down, and reconnect with your body.
This is a somatic practice, which means we work with sensation, breath, and internal experience — focusing on how things feel in the body, rather than how they look.
There is nothing to perform or achieve here. Only space to slow down, soften, and be supported. A space to return to yourself, week by week.
What to expect in each session: a guided return to rest
Each session follows a gentle, intentional arc that supports the nervous system in moving from activation into rest.
You are guided throughout, but always encouraged to move at your own pace, resting at any point you need.
The unfolding rhythm of the practice:
movement → release → restorative stillness → integration
Within this rhythm, the practice unfolds through five gentle phases — each supporting a different quality of experience:
Breath awareness We begin by arriving — letting the body settle into support and the breath as it already is. This is a quiet return to presence, noticing without needing to change anything.
Breath-led intention (pranayama) Here, the breath is gently shaped to introduce a subtle quality or feeling — such as softness, expansion, grounding, or ease. It is less about technique, and more about sensing how breath can influence our internal state. We then return to natural breathing and simply notice what has shifted.
Somatic movement Movement arises slowly and intentionally, always guided by sensation rather than form. This is an opportunity to explore the body from within — to notice tension, release, curiosity, and subtle shifts in awareness. There is no right way to move, only an invitation to listen.
Restorative stillness The body is fully supported with props, allowing effort to drop away completely. Here, you are held by the ground and the support beneath you. Stillness deepens, and the practice settles into rest — not as a final shape, but as an experience of being supported, softened, and at ease.
Closing + Integration The session ends in a period of quiet rest (savasana) before a slow, guided return. You are invited to come back gradually, carrying a little more space and ease with you as you move back into your day.
Why Movement comes before Rest
Gentle movement is an essential part of the practice, not separate from rest.
By moving slowly before stillness, the body is able to release stored tension and nervous system activation, making deeper rest more accessible. Movement is the bridge towards rest.
We move in order to rest more fully.
More than just a 'class'
Whether you are new to yoga, navigating stress or fatigue, or simply craving consistent nourishment, this is a space to move gently and rest deeply.
Drop-in spaces are available when space allows and can offer a valuable moment of pause.
The full series offers something deeper — a held weekly container that allows the nervous system to settle over time.
A 5–6 week series becomes a dedicated space for your well-being:
5-6 hours of intentional, uninterrupted time held just for you.
1 hour each week, where nothing is required of you.
Honouring the rhythm of rest through the wisdom of the seasons.
Each session offers space to nurture your whole being, supporting balance, renewal, and ease through life’s shifting energies.
Inspired by the energy of the world around us, moving between stillness, softness, and subtle vitality, each series is guided by the season we are currently in, moving with the natural rhythms of the year and shifting as the seasons change.
Through this mindful seasonal approach, rest becomes more than a pause — it’s a rhythm to integrate into your life, supporting well-being, resilience, and a deeper connection to your inner cycles.
A Seasonal Approach to Rest
Rest is not something reserved for when everything is finished or when life slows down. Rest is part of a natural cycle that exists in every season of life.
Each series is guided by seasonal energy — slowly unfolding week by week, with subtle progression and repetition woven in to support familiarity and nervous system safety. Like nature, the practice does not rush. It builds, softens, and deepens over time.
“I really enjoyed the session and slept like a baby afterwards - I ended up sleeping around 12 hours that night, which is very unusual for me. It wasn’t just the great postures, but also Sophie's warm and wise personality and the positive energy she brings to the session that really made a difference for me."
