Yoga & community to support & nurture you through early motherhood

Motherhood is beautifully consuming.

Your body has created, nurtured and held life for 9 months.

When your baby is born, you are also re-born into a new version of yourself
.
You meet your baby and you also get to meet a version of you that has never existed before.

You watch your baby grow before your very eyes, and you are also growing into your role as Mother - a role that is ever-changing and that asks you to surrender to the unknown.

To care for a new life, tending to your baby's needs, whilst you also tend to your own needs as you navigate this transition.

Our ancestors would have had circles of women supporting them, guiding them, holding them as they transitioned into motherhood.

Today we are socialised to do everything ourselves. We learn that taking time just for us is selfish, and to ask for help is a sign of weakness.

But taking care of our family requires us to attend to our own needs - it all starts with us.

This offering is something that I so desperately needed myself when I became a Mother - a chance to connect with other women navigating this transition, a space to tend to the needs of my own body and mind, and to be seen and heard in a safe community.

It has been designed to support your physical and emotional postpartum recovery with patience and care, all in a friendly and warm atmosphere, so that you can allow yourself the time and space to repair and rejuvenate, however you gave birth.

As a small, intimate group, we'll support each other as we explore ways to nurture and embrace your powerful body that held and supported your precious baby for 9 months.

Each session will provide an opportunity to tend to your mental and emotional needs ~ to fill your cup ~ whilst being part of a supportive community.

​No previous Yoga experience necessary

Please feel free to tend to your and your baby's needs throughout the class - taking a break to (breast)feed your baby, change their nappy or soothe them if they become unsettled. This is just part of listening to and acknowledging your maternal instinct, and is very much encouraged, and I'll be on hand to support you as much as I can.

What to expect

Each 60 minute session will include:
  • A 10-15 minute welcome chat for sharing & community building
  • A 45 minute gentle Hatha Yoga flow class suitable for the postpartum period, including Asana (Yoga postures) to encourage increased mobility, space and strength throughout the body​
  • Nurturing poses to promote healing and rest for your body after birth
  • Specific poses to strengthen and relieve tired muscles from lifting, feeding and cradling
  • Breathwork techniques to enhance focus, rehabilitation and strenghtening of the core and pelvic floor muscles
  • Meditation, yoga nidra & relaxation practices to allow for deep rest and integration

What are the benefits of Postnatal Yoga?

  • Promotes healing and recovering following birth
  • Regain strength within the core muscles and helps to balance the pelvic floor post pregnancy and birth
  • An opportunity to nurture yourself
  • Can help to relieve common postnatal related symptoms, such as exhaustion, anxiety, low back pain and insomnia
  • A safe space to share both the magic and challenges of your motherhood journey

​​These sessions are suitable for all levels of practitioner, from 6-12 weeks post delivery, providing both you and baby are healthy and well, and suitable for babies from 6 weeks, up until crawling.
​

​A short health questionnaire will need to be completed before joining to ensure the sessions are suitable for the mother & baby attending.

I am a yoga teacher and holistic therapies practitioner, specialising in yoga and holistic support for pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. I created this course to help you embrace your powerful body and connect with your own wisdom during motherhood - sharing the knowledge and techniques that I used myself when I first became a mother, and still use today.
